The 888 Poker Brief Recaps February Poker Highlights

Kara Scott, on behalf of 888poker, highlights the major happenings in poker for the month of February in the latest episode of the Poker Brief.

Kicking off the highlights was coverage of the US Poker Open, a new high stakes poker series brought to you by Poker Central that took place at the ARIA Hotel & Resort in Las Vegas. The inaugural series provided poker fans plenty of entertaining moments and showcased a variety of poker variants during the $25,000 Mixed Game Championship.

Keeping with the live poker theme, next on Kara’s list was the the partypoker MILLIONS in Germany where 888 sponsored pro Dominik Nitsche defeated partypoker sponsored pro Marcel Lüske to take down the High Roller event. For the Main Event, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom made a heroic call on the final hand of the tournament to seal a huge comeback victory.

News of an extension between new partners 888poker and the WPT500 also made the cut as they will be teaming up for another event, this time at Aspers Westfield Stratford City in London from March 23-April 2, 2018. The $565 buy-in event has a $1 million guaranteed prize pool with 888 hosting one of the opening days online on March 11. Other day 1s will take place at various Aspers properties.

Wrapping up the month was the American Poker Awards. Watch the video below to find out what Kara thought about the event and some of the winners.
