PokerStars’ SCOOP 2021 Festival to Take Place in April

Online poker giant PokerStars has unveiled the dates for the prestigious Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) series.

For the first time in over a decade, the 2021 edition of the SCOOP festival will take place entirely in the month of April. It will kick off on Sunday, April 4 and run through Wednesday, April 28.

The last time SCOOP was entirely held in the month of April was back in 2009 when the series was established. Since then, the series has always taken place in May.

Last year in 2020, SCOOP created the record for the largest tournament series in the history of online poker.

Held during the heights of the lockdown as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, the series which originally guaranteed $85 million was raised to $135 million.

After a full month of play, the SCOOP 2020 series awarded $185 million across 371 tournaments.

Guarantees and further details for the upcoming edition are yet to be announced though we expect the total guaranteed prize money close to $100 million.

First “HU4rollz” Battle on GGPoker Fedor Holz vs Wiktor 'Limitless’ Malinowski

The Face-Off Challenge Kicks Off on March 5

It all started when Wiktor 'Limitless’ Malinowski called out Fedor Holz on Joey Ingram’s podcast back in August last year and this has turned into a challenge after Holz quickly accepted the challenge.

The face-off challenge between Fedor Holz, GGPoker ambassador and Malinowski, the Polish poker pro will take place on top online poker site GGPoker.

Limitless needs no introduction if you’re a high-stakes player. But for the uninitiated, Wiktor Malinowski with that famous poker username is from Poland and is considered to be one of the best online poker players in recent history. Last year, he won the largest recorded online cash game pot.

And Holz from Germany is one of the youngest players to have the title for the best online MTT player in 2014 and 2015. He has racked over $32 million in his career live tournament winnings and is ranked number #1 in his country.

The fierce battle between the two will kick off this Friday, March 5. The heads-up match will be streamed on GGPoker.TV on a 30-minute delay, with expert commentatory on hand and yes there will be giveaways too.

The remaining three sessions will be held on March 8, March 10 and March 12.

These two will be playing at $100/$200 No-Limit Hold’em tables, starting with 100 big blind stacks. Each session will see at least 400 hands.

You don’t want to be missing this epic battle as GGPoker is touting it as the greatest heads-up match in poker.

You can bet on the GGPoker Face-Off Challenge directly within the GGPoker client and at Pokershares.

“This one has been a while in the making, but we think that now is the perfect time for these two titans of the game to clash and there’s no better place for all the action to unfold than on GGPoker’s award-winning software,” said John Scanlon, Director of Live Events & Sponsorships at GGPoker.
