PokerStars WCOOP Main Event $1.3 Million Winner: Portugal’s Luis Faria

Faria started the final table as the chip leader and never looked back, winning the $10K WCOOP Main Event in style.

The 2022 edition of PokerStarsWCOOP is officially over. With the final games taking place over the past few days, the operator has concluded another successful series, despite technical problems that put a pin in it back in October.

While WCOOP Take 2 featured 66 tournaments, the $10K Main Event was the talk of the weekend. $1,293,825 was reserved for the winner heading into the final day, and Luis ‘luis_faria’ Faria, a Portuguese player now living in Poland, was sitting pretty, starting the final table as the chip leader.

There was no chip leader’s curse at play this time as Faria cruised through the final table, outlasting many talented players to wrap things up and take home the prestigious title and first-place money just shy of $1.3 million.

This concludes one of the most eventful WCOOPs in recent history that dished out over $108 in prizes across 367 individual tournaments and hosted almost 1.2 million entries (including reentries).
