Don’t Miss Out on ONSCOOP Main Event at PokerStars Ontario This Weekend

The upcoming weekend brings a ton of tournament action at PokerStars Ontario, including three ONSCOOP Main Events and PLO Championship tournaments.

The first-ever ONSCOOP has been underway on PokerStars Ontario for some time now, and the Main Events are just around the corner.

This Sunday, Apr 9, PokerStars Ontario will host three ONSCOOP Main Event tournaments in their respective orbits, namely:

  • Low Orbit: $50 buy-in & $30k GTD
  • Medium Orbit: $300 buy-in and $150k GTD
  • High Orbit: $1000 buy-in and $70k GTD

If you happen to be a fan of PLO, there are also three PLO Championship events on the docket for the upcoming Sunday, all three with affordable buy-ins and decent guarantees.

There are only a few more days left to play in this edition of the ONSCOOP, so make sure to sign up for your PokerStars Ontario account and join the action in the remaining tournaments!

James Hartigan Gets a Surprise Entry into the PokerStars Irish Poker Open

The legendary PokerStars commentator will replace his seat at the booth with one at the feature table of the Irish Poker Open Main Event.

All poker fans out there are familiar with the name of James Hartigan. He’s been one of the regular commentators for PokerStars live and online events alike, and I’m confident most of us can recognize his voice within the first ten seconds of any live coverage.

With the first Irish Poker Open sponsored by PokerStars happening right now in Dublin, Hartigan was getting ready to fly and out and do his job, i.e., commentate on the Main Event. But then he got a nice surprise from his friend and fellow commentator Joe Stapleton.

Not only will James play in the tournament, but he’ll be one of the players on the featured table on Friday. So, the tables will turn, and instead of commentating, Hartigan will have his hands analyzed and commentated upon!

If you’d like to join the action over in Dublin, you still can. While there are no longer online satellites available, you can still buy in straight from the PokerStars client, book your flights, and get there just in time!

Vanessa Selbst Returns to the Felt for the WSOP 2023

Vanessa Selbst has come out of her poker retirement to join the WSOP Thrill Team, and she will be coming back to Las Vegas for the 2023 WSOP Main Event.

Perhaps the best female poker player in the game’s history, Vanessa Selbst has been away from the green felt for several years now. While she’s been focusing on her family and career outside of poker, Vanessa will be coming to Las Vegas for the 2023 WSOP as a part of the WSOP Thrill Team.

The Thrill Team, which comprises a number of big names, including the high-stakes legend Patrik Antonius, has been put together to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the WSOP free-to-play app, which allows players around the world to compete in tournaments at cash games without risking any real money.

Selbst has played very little poker since her last Main Event appearance back in 2017. In a recent interview for PokerNews, she admitted that she was looking for an excuse to get back into the game, and the partnership with the World Series of Poker presented a great opportunity to do just that.

The 2023 WSOP is quickly approaching, and it is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most exciting festivals in the series’ history. If you’d like to be a part of it and have an opportunity to rub your elbows with the pros, check out online satellites running around the clock at WSOP.com.
