Aleks Borovkov Wins GGMillion$ for $374,609 and WSOP Paradise Package
The chip leader at the final table beat Viacheslav Larin heads-up after coming back from a sixth-place finish the week before.
Aleks Borovkov turned a sixth-place finish from last week into a GGMillion$ title seven days later, taking the $10,000 event for $374,609 and a $10,000 package to the live WSOP Paradise edition.
According to PokerNews, he had reached the final table last week in seventh place and went on to finish sixth for $88,174. This time he returned as the chip leader with 64 big blinds, while Arunas Sapitavicius sat on 52 and Viacheslav Larin was the short stack with 19.
The first 45 minutes of the final table passed without an elimination. Danilo Velasevic was first out in ninth after ace-king fell to Arsenii Malinov, and “Clarity” followed in eighth when a river call with a Broadway straight ran into Duco Haven’s turned flush.
Sapitavicius took seventh for a five-figure score after a clash with Larin, and Haven exited in sixth for $111,017 after Borovkov called his shove with ace-king and rivered an ace. Reigning champion Artem Osmirko was next in fifth, after Larin paired an ace with ace-queen against pocket tens.
Malinov then fell before the final four. A player identified as “Tsintao”, described as a brand-new GGPoker player who had won a $1,050 satellite into the event, was eliminated by Larin with ace-seven against ace-five.
That set up heads-up play with Larin holding a 16,567,756 to 3,495,244 chip lead. Borovkov chipped away, drew level, and then moved ahead after turning a flush and getting paid when Larin backed off a triple-barrel bluff on the river.
The match ended when Borovkov raised with ace-eight of spades and called Larin’s 18-big-blind shove with ace-six. An eight on the turn left Larin needing a seven to make a straight, but the river was a five, leaving him second for $293,725.
