Sean Perry Uses Both $100K Entries at Super High Roller Bowl XI
Alex Foxen eliminated Perry’s second bullet as Seth Davies led 12 Day 1 survivors in Las Vegas.
Sean Perry was eliminated on Day 1 of Super High Roller Bowl XI in Las Vegas after using both of his $100,000 entries. His second run ended in the final level when Alex Foxen’s pocket threes held against Perry’s rivered top two pair.
The PokerGO Tour event allowed one reentry per player, and Perry used his after losing his first 300,000-chip stack. PokerNews reported that he had initially built that stack to 360,000 in a pot involving Nick Petrangelo and Adrian Mateos, but had dropped to 23,000 by Level 4 before doubling twice through Kristen Foxen and eventually busting.
On his second entry, Perry first lost a substantial pot when his two pair was beaten by Alex Foxen’s straight. Their decisive hand began with Perry raising the button to 13,000 holding jack-nine, while Foxen called from the small blind with pocket threes.
Foxen checked his bottom set on the jack-seven-three flop, then raised Perry’s 10,000 continuation bet to 29,000. Perry called again when Foxen bet 32,000 on the four turn. The nine river gave Perry top two pair, but Foxen’s set remained best. Foxen bet 150,000, covering Perry’s remaining 114,000 chips, and Perry called to lose his second entry.
The opening day at the PokerGO Studio began with 17 players and recorded 23 entries, with 12 players advancing. Ben Tollerene and Vinny Lingham also used all permitted entries and were eliminated, while Nick Schulman, Jesse Lonis, Chris Hunichen and Petrangelo still had an available reentry before Day 2.
Two-time Super High Roller Bowl champion Seth Davies led the returning field with 882,000 chips, or 110 big blinds. Foxen sat second with 768,000, and defending champion Joao Simao advanced with 548,000. Igor Yaroshevskyy, Talal Shakerchi, Jeremy Ausmus and Jason Koon were also among the survivors.
Late registration remained open until the Day 2 restart, meaning the field could still grow beyond its 23 Day 1 entries. Play was scheduled to resume Friday, Oct. 9, at the PokerGO Studio, with the Day 2 stream scheduled for PokerGO later that afternoon.
