Debbie Lee Takes Day 1A Lead at WSOP Circuit Tunica
Her 1.141 million chip stack topped the 115-entry flight by a wide margin after a bubble-bursting run through Horseshoe Tunica.
Debbie Lee bagged 1,141,000 chips to lead Day 1A of Event #13, the $1,700 No Limit Hold’em Main Event at Horseshoe Tunica, after the first of two starting flights wrapped up. Her stack was more than double the nearest challenger, and 12 players advanced to Sunday’s Day 2.
According to Poker.org’s live updates, the flight drew 115 entries and added $174,225 to the prize pool. The field was trimmed to 18 players to reach the money, with everyone still in line for at least $3,434, before play carried on until only about 10% of the starting field remained.
Lee’s run included the knockout that burst the money bubble, and she spent much of the day on a tear. By the time the final elimination landed in Level 16, she had the clear lead.
Several familiar names also moved on. Yuval Bronshtein bagged 526,000, Keith Canterbury 427,000, Peter Rouviere 422,000, Walker Miskelly 412,000, Dylan Lemery 398,000, and former Circuit Main Event champion Matthew Higgins 253,000.
Maurice Hawkins, Kyle Cartwright, Vincent Moscati, Luis Yepez, Hamid Izadi and reigning Horseshoe Tunica Main Event champion Preston McEwen all missed out on a bag. The official schedule lists a $400,000 guaranteed prize pool for both Flight A and Flight B, and the combined field was due back for Day 2 on Sunday.
