The Hoagie Holiday Poker Classic is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, with a $170 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack tournament that directs part of every entry to a South Jersey holiday-food program. The one-night event is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., although it remains pending approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Keith Becker and Anthony “Hoagie” Cicali, both BetRivers Poker Ambassadors, will host the tournament. The City Pulse described it as a charity competition combining cash prizes, giveaways and holiday giving.
Each $170 buy-in includes a $30 contribution to the Riverside Turners Club’s Give A Christmas program. The initiative provides holiday food baskets to families across South Jersey, with proceeds from the poker classic intended to help buy food and other necessities for those deliveries.
The Riverside Turners Club is based in Riverside, New Jersey, where Cicali has local ties. Joanne Samero organizes Give A Christmas with club members and volunteers. Cicali has been involved in the regulated online gaming industry since 2015, while Becker is a Pennsylvania-based poker player and content creator who has been involved in live events, poker streams and promotions.
Players will receive 85,000 chips to start and play 20-minute blind levels. Entrants must be at least 21. Potential Philadelphia Eagles ticket giveaways, along with other prizes and bonuses, are expected during the event.
The tournament is set for the Rivers Poker Room at Rivers Casino Philadelphia, 1001 N. Delaware Ave. in Philadelphia.
