APT Jeju Preview Shows 135-Event Festival and $1.6M Main Event

PokerOrg’s preview and APT’s own schedule differ slightly on totals, but both point to a sprawling 20th-anniversary stop in Jeju.

Key points
  1. APT Jeju will run from Sept. 25 to Oct. 7 as part of the tour’s 20th-anniversary season.
  2. The official APT schedule lists 136 trophy events and about $3.5 million in guaranteed prize pools.
  3. The festival includes No Limit Hold’em, Omaha, stud, mixed games, draw games and women’s events.
  4. Supporting highlights include a $900 Mystery Bounty Hunter, an $11,000 Super High Roller and two women’s events.
  5. The Jeju stop is also tied to November’s APT Championship in Taipei, which has a $5 million guaranteed Main Event.

APT Jeju is set to run from Sept. 25 to Oct. 7 in Jeju, and PokerOrg previewed it as a 135-event festival built around a $2,000 Main Event with a $1.6 million guarantee. The same preview says the stop is part of APT’s 20th-anniversary season and that it is the tour’s second Korean island festival this year.

The official APT preview says the festival is being run with Landing Entertainment Korea and sits as the fourth stop in the tour’s milestone 20-Year Anniversary season at LES A Casino.

There is a small difference in the event count. APT’s own preview and schedule announcement describe the festival as a 13-day stop with 136 trophy events and KRW 5.2 billion, about $3.5 million, in guaranteed prize pools. It also says the Main Event carries KRW 2.2 billion, about $1.5 million, in guarantees, with a KRW 2.7 million buy-in, roughly $1,800.

The broader schedule is built for variety, not just big-field hold’em. According to APT, 90 of the tournaments are No Limit Hold’em, including 11 dedicated women’s events, while the rest of the slate includes 21 Omaha events, 17 stud and mixed games, and eight draw games.

PokerOrg’s preview points to some of the supporting highlights. Those include a $900 Mystery Bounty Hunter with a $300,000 guaranteed pool on Sept. 26, an $11,000 APT Super High Roller that will pay at least $370,000, a $220 heads-up women’s event on Sept. 28, and a $600 Women’s Main Event on Sept. 29. The preview also ties the Jeju stop to November’s APT Championship in Taipei, where the main freezeout is set at $5 million guaranteed.
