Ontario Online Gambling Revenue Tops C$400.6 Million in June
Casino stayed the main engine, sports betting got a World Cup lift and poker remained a small slice.
Ontario’s regulated online gambling market generated C$400.6 million in gross revenue in June, according to iGaming Ontario figures cited by Gaming News Canada. That was down 3% from May’s C$413.1 million, but up 30.5% from C$306.8 million a year earlier.
June was the sixth month to clear C$400 million, and all six of those months came in the last eight months. May had already been described as the second-best month on record.
Online casinos remained the biggest piece of the market at C$316.8 million in June. That was 3% lower than May’s all-time record of C$326.5 million.
Sports betting brought in C$78.6 million, also down 3% from C$81.3 million in May. Casino.org said the 2026 FIFA World Cup gave Ontario’s regulated online gaming market a major boost in June, even though the revenue line still moved lower month over month.
On the handle side, Ontario sports betting cash wagers passed C$1 billion again, reaching C$1.033 billion in June, up 6% from May and the eighth month in the past 12 to clear that mark. Overall iGaming cash wagers reached C$9.458 billion, flat month over month, while the province had 1.319 million active player accounts, up 5%.
Online poker stayed the smallest vertical, with June revenue of C$5.2 million, down 4% from C$5.4 million in May. Since launch, and excluding OLG numbers, Ontario’s online gambling market has generated more than C$12.6 billion in revenue, with casinos accounting for about 75%, sports betting 22%, and poker 2%. Taxes since launch have now passed about C$2.52 billion, roughly 20% of revenue.
