ClubWPT Gold Rolls Out Multi-Tabling

The downloadable client added a long-requested feature, but the launch came with bugs and a thinner feature set than rivals.

ClubWPT Gold rolled out multi-tabling as part of a downloadable client update, giving players the ability to open more than one table at a time. The move was framed as one of the room’s most requested features, and it arrived with a broader software shift away from the site’s web-based setup.

According to pokerfuse, the downloadable client went live after scheduled server maintenance on May 7. The rollout had been previewed in WPT ambassador Brad Owen’s vlog, which said the new client would begin arriving that day and would include multi-tabling. The number of simultaneous tables was not formally confirmed, but four tables was treated as the working assumption.

The launch did not go smoothly. Early adopters reported performance problems after the May 7 release, including tables closing mid-hand and forcing folds. ClubWPT Gold acknowledged on social media that the release was below its standards and said it would address the problems, and two days later the site carried out unscheduled server maintenance to stabilize the platform.

Even with multi-tabling in place, the room was still missing a lot of pieces. The report said ClubWPT Gold had no Omaha, no Run It Twice, no Bomb Pots, and no note-taking or player color-tagging tools. The mobile app was also described as not supporting multi-tabling for now.

The feature mattered because it changed the feel of the games. The article said multi-tabling would make the action tougher by drawing in more experienced regulars, and one Reddit user said it would turn the site into “just another online site filled with boring GTO players multi-tabling.” Another said, “Wish they’d keep it single table tbh. Games are far better.”

The comparison with Clubs Poker underlined how much ground ClubWPT Gold still had to cover. Clubs Poker was described as offering multi-tabling, a downloadable client, Omaha and mixed games, bomb pots, Run It Twice, and mystery bounty tournaments. Both sites use Sweeps Coins redeemable for cash at $1 per SC, and ClubWPT Gold was said to be available in 46 states, compared with 43 for Clubs Poker.

The room’s earlier appeal was described as its simplicity, with slower-paced, single-table action and recreational players, built on A5 Labs software used by WPT Global.
