Marblehead Player Wins New Hampshire Record $402,108 Poker Jackpot
A $5 three-card poker side wager led to a straight flush and The Nash Casino’s top Triple Diamond progressive prize.
A Marblehead, Massachusetts, player identified as R.B. won a $402,108 progressive jackpot at The Nash Casino in Nashua after a $5 side wager on three-card poker. The Sept. 6 payout is the largest progressive jackpot in New Hampshire casino history.
R.B. was dealt the four, five and six of spades, making a straight flush. That qualifying hand triggered a Bonus Spin Xtreme wheel spin, which landed on the top-tier Triple Diamond jackpot and paid the full shared progressive pool to the winner.
Bonus Spin Xtreme for three-card poker is an optional side wager, with rules that allow $1 or $5 bets. A qualifying poker hand triggers an electronic wheel prize, while the base game still requires its mandatory ante wager.
The Nash’s progressive pool draws prize money from about 30 participating tables at the casino and grows until a player hits the winning wheel outcome. General manager Eric Althaus said patrons and staff held their breath as the wheel turned after the straight flush was revealed.
The new mark surpassed the casino’s previous progressive record of $233,490, won by a Lowell, Massachusetts, resident on Valentine’s Day. In May 2025, the venue had described a $102,756 blackjack progressive jackpot won by a guest named Phouma as believed to be the state record at that time.
The Nash opened inside Pheasant Lane Mall in March 2025 and has since awarded 128 jackpots, including seven prizes above $100,000. Players have claimed more than $31 million in progressive winnings there, with nearly $17 million awarded in 2026.
The venue, which calls itself New Hampshire’s largest casino, offers more than 1,100 electronic games as well as table games and poker. Under New Hampshire’s charitable gaming model, 35% of daily table-game revenue must go directly to local nonprofits. The casino said it generated more than $19.5 million for 118 New Hampshire nonprofits in its first 12 months of operation.
