SHRPO Event 22 Drew 278 Entries and Topped Its $25,000 Guarantee

The $300 Quad Stack Black Chip Bounty NLH featured $100 bounties, 20-minute levels and late registration through Level 10.

On Aug. 2, SHRPO Event 22 drew 278 entries and generated a $41,144 prize pool, topping its $25,000 guarantee. The $300 Quad Stack Black Chip Bounty No-Limit Hold’em event also set aside $27,800 for bounties, with the winner collecting $9,029 and the SHRPO Trophy.

The tournament had been listed on the schedule for 6 pm, and the Day 6 sheet called it a "$300 Quad Stack Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)." The event page said each player had a $100 bounty on their head, started with 30K stacks, and played 20-minute levels.

The rules PDF filled in more of the structure. It put the number 1 entry fee at $248, with $100 of that going to the player bounty, $52 as the registration fee, $18 for staffing, and $2 for the SHRPO Tournament Leaderboard promotional fund.

That PDF also described the event as a one-day, 9-handed big blind ante tournament. It said on-site registration and unlimited re-entries stayed open until the start of Level 10, around 9:30 pm, with players able to forfeit their chips at the end of registration to re-enter.

The final 35 players finished in the money, the min-cash was $325, and the runner-up took $6,285.

One detail differed between the event page and the rules sheet. The event page said players would sit with 30K stacks, while the PDF listed 40,000 tournament chips.

The broader SHRPO series was being promoted in a June Hard Rock Hollywood newsroom release as running from July 28 to Aug. 11. That release also said "The Big 4" would use staggered structures so the final tables were played simultaneously, with combined prize pools of $4.75 million.
