CoinPoker Launches Play for Fun on Google Play
The Android app runs on virtual chips only and adds hourly and daily bonuses, rewards and human-only tables.
CoinPoker has launched Play For Fun, a free-to-play Android app on the Google Play store. The app uses virtual Play Chips only, not real money, and it lets users join cash games or tournaments without going through the usual real-money registration flow or entering payment details.
The app is built as a practice and casual-play environment. CardPlayer reported that players can sit with other human players around the world and use it to test strategy and learn poker mechanics without financial risk. A CoinPoker representative said, “Poker doesn’t have any barriers with a free-to-play app, but still has every aspect that makes this one of the most popular skill-based games in the world.”
The software covers standard poker formats, including Texas hold’em and pot-limit Omaha, in both cash-game and tournament versions. It also includes all-in or fold variants for both kinds of play, and CardPlayer Lifestyle described the app as live with tables open when it announced the release.
The free app also relies on an in-game economy to keep players supplied with chips. Users get a 25,000-chip hourly bonus and a 100,000-chip daily bonus, earn Reward Points on every hand, and can exchange those points in the built-in Reward Store for more chips, tournament tickets and virtual items.
The app adds table customization tools as well. Players can adjust buy-ins, audio controls, hand-strength indicators, table themes and card designs, while celebrations for big hands and tournament wins and leaderboards are included.
