Asian Poker Tour Shatters World Record

"Iron Man Challenge" keeps players in their seats.

This weekend, a new Guinness World Record has been achieved by the Asian Poker Tour (APT) – Resorts World Manilla (RWM) for the longest continuous poker tournament. The $700 buy-in Iron Man Challenge had 115 sickos take their seat and play, without a single break, until a winner was crowned a full 48 hours, 55 minutes and 58.5 seconds later.

With all of the play under constant surveillance to satisfy the record requirements, it was American player Damon Shulenberger (far right in photo) who would be the tournaments super hero. Shulenberger outlasted them all in the epic two-day adventure at the end of which he was rewarded with the $18k+ first place prize and the title of the ultimate Iron Man.

After his victory he spoke with an APT-affiliated reporter: “I don’t think I’ll play poker again for at least a month.”
