Doug Polk – Cocktail Drinking, Chart Sharing Champion

"WCGRider" binks his first bracelet.

If there’s one guy who looks like he’s having a good time at the World Series of Poker it’s Doug Polk. The high-stakes online grinder, who goes by the name “WCGRider”, won his first gold bracelet in the $1K Turbo event yesterday, not only taking home over $250K but declaring victory in an unspecified 5:1 bracelet bet.

Now with the monkey off his back, Polk tells Sarah Grant from PokerNews that he still plans on playing a number of events – including the One Drop! – but implementing a more relaxed schedule as it’s clear this is a guy who like to take it easy.

Bonus: Watch this. Just before Polk jumped into the Turbo $1K, which he won, he talked with Bluff Magazine about the pressure of winning a bracelet and how he’s not thrilled, but he’s gotta put his time in on these smaller tournaments. It’s pretty cool to see the “before and after” videos.
