It was first hinted by poker journalist Barry Carter that the non-native English speaking Suárez may have been confused by the actual name of his online poker sponsor (888poker) when he attempted to feast on the Italian defense in the World Cup match between Italy and Uruguay on Tuesday.

This is not the first time Uruguayan Suárez has succumbed to his inner vampire, as William Hill reminded the twitterverse.

Uruguay went on to win the match 1-0 continuing Suárez’ record of never having lost a match after biting someone.

Calls for 888poker to sack their ambassador followed swiftly.

888sport refused to ignore the issue and set their Twitter followers a question.
