Athanasios Polychronopoulos Provides Hilariously Simple Tournament Advice

Top pro with extremely basic tips on how to survive big fields at the WSOP.

When Sarah Grant approached 2-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, and World Poker Tour “One To Watch”, Athanasios Polychronopoulos for a quick interview to talk about surviving large field WSOP events, there’s a good bet she hoped for a little more than this video.

APoly seems happy to be on camera but not really forthcoming with any real info for the viewer. Answers to Grant’s questions come in the forms of:

“Feel good”
“Don’t play too poorly”
“Run good”
“Maybe win”

Grant, ever the professional, doubles down and tries asking again, using different wording. APoly sees her tactic and adjusts accordingly with:

“Don’t bust”
“Don’t play too many bad hands”
“Try to win some pots”

While all of this advice is spot on accurate – you cannot win if you bust – these are not just basic strategies, they are practically rules of the game. It is not likely to be the secret formula for taking down a field in the thousands….Or is it?
