Isaac Haxton Wins Super High Roller Bowl for $3.6 Million

Partypoker team pro Isaac “Ike” Haxton won the fifth edition of Super High Roller Bowl for over $3.6 million.

Haxton emerged victorious and topped the field of 36 entrants to win the fifth edition of the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) for a career-best win of $3,672,000.

“This is my biggest score ever and easily the best accomplishment. This is the highlight of my tournament career,” said Haxton to Poker Central after winning Super High Roller Bowl V late on Wednesday night inside the PokerGO Studio.

With this win, Haxton now takes his live poker winnings past $23.5 million.

The $300,000 buy-in SHRB saw some of the world’s best poker players including Daniel Negreanu, Adrian Mateos, {Talal Shakerchi), and Igor Kurganov.

Haxton entered the final table with the chip lead. After a few eliminations, he was heads-up with GPI #1 ranked player, Alex Foxen.

Foxton had a slight lead against Haxton. It all came down to this dramatic final hand, Haxton moved all-in pre-flop with KJ only to get called by Foxten with A8 suited. The flop landed 6 A Q, giving Foxten top pair, but Haxton went runner-runner to hit two pairs and take down the event. Foxen took home $2.1 million—also a career-best win.

“It’s easy, in the moment, to fall into putting too much significance into one tournament. It’s a 36-player event and I was the luckiest guy this time and won. I don’t think it changes anything about the player I am or my legacy, but damn does it feel good to win a tournament,” Haxton added.

This is the same tournament in which Negreanu pulled out one of his best folds when he folded his nut Straight. He was bang on correct with his read as his opponent Mikita Badziakouski had made a Full House on the river.
