Vanessa Kade Takes Down PokerStars Sunday Million Anniversary for $1.5 million Payday

Latest ACR ambassador Vanessa Kade has just won the 15th Anniversary Edition of PokerStars Sunday Million for an eye watering $1.5 million.

Kade, who has a prolific following on Twitch, beat a field of almost 70,000 players to win the event.

You can watch the moment Kade won below.

The tournament was the fifth largest ever hosted online and the second largest by PokerStars in terms of total prize pool. It cements Kade in the online poker history books—her first place prize is among the largest online poker prizes ever won by a female player.

The Sunday Million is now an incredible 15 years old. And we just got these stats through from PokerStars on what the operator has achieved in this time:

  • Number of completed tournaments: 707
  • Total number of entries (including re-entries): 6.2 million
  • Total prizepools: $1.1 billion
  • Total winner prizes: $140M
  • Vanessa’s win is the biggest first place pay out

The win comes off the back of a tumultuous few months and weeks for Kade.

Kade found herself at the center of the controversy surrounding the signing of playboy Dan Bilzerian to GGPoker. Kade took a stance against Bilzerian’s misogyny which ultimately lead to the termination of a legacy affiliate agreement with GG.

This led to a great amount of vitriol on Twitter—in what must have been a trying time for the poker streamer. However, many people also came out in support of her.

Soon after, it led to her announcing a partnership with ACR. And now Kade can sit back and claim the last word in the ultimate rebuttal—she has proved all her doubters wrong. And made herself a millionaire in the process.
