$20 Million Main Event Guaranteed on GGPoker in August

GGPoker announces $20 million Main Event in the international leg of the WSOP Online 2021.

Details for the rest of the series are still a bit sparse, but players know what the international Main Event on GGPoker will be worth. The operator recently announced that this year’s Main Event for the international WSOP Online 2021 will be worth at least $20 million.

That’s down $5 million from last year, but 2020 was a unique year that no one really expects to be replicated in a 2021 that is emerging from the pandemic lockdowns. Last year’s lockdown-fueled event blew past even the $25 million guarantee, eventually generating more than $27.5 million for the largest online tournament ever.

Even before the tournament runs, the $20 million guarantee this year puts the game as the fourth biggest online tournament ever. It only needs to exceed the guarantee by $2 million to move into second place.
