Is Michigan Online Poker Joining a Multi-State Player Pool?

Signs point to the fact that Michigan is making moves towards joining a multi-state gaming compact, allowing MI online poker operators to pool players across state lines.

According to MI Gaming Review, Michigan is in the process of joining an interstate gaming compact for online poker, which would allow it to open its player pool to other states.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has posted guidance to its website outlining specific actions that operators, platform providers, and third parties must take before it authorizes multistate poker.

This would be huge for the Mitten State.

For instance, PokerStars USA could combine Michigan online poker players with its pool of players in New Jersey. In time, PokerStars may be able to do the same in Pennsylvania, should that state also join a compact.

This could also be a big opportunity for NJ’s partypoker network — BetMGM Poker, Borgata, & partypoker}, which share liquidity within the Garden State — to combine with their MI counterparts.
