Long-Time Poker Ambassador Boris Becker Jailed for Ratholing

The tennis legend, who has been an ambassador for online poker rooms for more than a decade, has been jailed for two years for hiding millions of pounds after declaring bankruptcy.

Boris Becker is known to millions as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

Those in the poker world may also know of him via his multitude of impressive ambassadorships with big online poker rooms. For many years, he represented PokerStars, then switched allegiance in 2016 to partypoker. In 2020, he signed on with GGPoker.

However, the German, who declared bankruptcy in 2017, was brought to trial in the UK last week for hiding funds and assets.

Becker was found guilty on four charges under the Insolvency Act and will be going to jail for 2 years for hiding £2.5m worth of assets and loans to avoid paying debts.
