PokerStars 2023 UKIPT Ends With the Nottingham Festival

The first full PokerStars UKIPT season since 2016 is officially in the books, and it was a successful one in every which way.

PokerStars has successfully completed the return of another popular series as the recently concluded Nottingham festival marked the end of the 2023 United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour. This was the first full UKIPT schedule since 2016, and its popularity with the players showed that it was the correct move by the operator.

Nottingham was the final stop of the season, following successful events in London, Edinburgh, Malta, and Blackpool, and it featured a solid tournament schedule highlighted by the £1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. That guarantee was shattered by over £200,000, creating an impressive prize pool for a £1,100 event.

In the end, it was the French player Vincent Meli lifting up the trophy and pocketing £159,325. The runner-up, Patrice Brandt, ended up with £168,425 as the two decided to split the money when they reached the heads-up stage, leaving only £2,000 and the trophy to play for.

In terms of the entire season, it was a good one for David Docherty, who walked away with a Player of the Year title after sealing his position on the leaderboard with a win in the Nottingham Super High Roller event.

And so, the 2023 UKIPT season is officially in the books, but we’re confident it won’t be long before we have a schedule for 2024, so keep an eye out on the PokerStars app and look for different ways to qualify and get in a mix!
