Kristen Foxen Robs Negreanu of His Second 2024 Tournament Win

Daniel Negreanu came close to winning his second title of the year but was stopped in his tracks by Kristen Foxen.

Canadian poker superstar Daniel Negreanu started the new year on a good note, winning the first High Roller event of the 2024 PokerGO Tour (PGT) and bagging $218,400 for his efforts.

A couple of days ago, KidPoker found himself in a position to win another PGT accolade as he got all the way down to heads-up in a $10,000 event. However, this one didn’t have the Canadian’s name on it, as he couldn’t get past Kristen Foxen, his last obstacle on the way to the second title of 2024.

Foxen started the final skirmish with a chip lead, but Negreanu put up a great fight and managed to close the gap. However, this wasn’t enough, as Kristen’s aggressive play, combined with a good run of cards, helped ensure her eventual victory.

Foxen took home $165,000 and climbed to the second spot on the PGT leaderboard, while Daniel cashed for another $105,000. With a win and a second-place finish barely two weeks into 2024, Negreanu is setting the tone for the rest of the year as he seeks redemption for less-than-stellar 2023.

There are many more tournaments coming up in the following weeks and months, and it will be interesting to see if Kid Poker can keep the momentum going and have the cards cooperate, as his poker skills are beyond any doubt.
