PokerStars UK Completes Move to Betfair With Stack+ Rewards
UK players now access PokerStars through Betfair, while the new loyalty scheme offers up to 25% rakeback.
PokerStars’ UK migration to Betfair is complete, with British online poker players having accessed PokerStars exclusively through the PokerStars on Betfair platform since Oct. 7.
The switch changes the route into PokerStars rather than the games available. Players retain access to familiar PokerStars games, shared player pools and major series including the Sunday Million, WCOOP and SCOOP.
PokerNews reported that existing PokerStars customers can sign in through the Betfair desktop client or mobile app using their PokerStars credentials. Those transferring accounts can move balances, T-Money and active tournament tickets. Players who already hold an active Betfair account use their Betfair credentials and must withdraw any remaining funds from the legacy PokerStars.uk cashier.
Betfair balances are held in pounds sterling. PokerStars Casino and PokerStars Sports have also been replaced in the UK setup by Betfair Casino and Betfair Sportsbook.
The platform has launched Stack+, a loyalty programme that offers up to 25% rakeback on qualifying real-money cash-game and tournament play. Players opt in once through the main lobby and earn points across eligible games.
Rakeback begins once a player reaches 500 points. Stack+ has seven levels, and a higher rakeback rate applies immediately to subsequent play when a player moves up a level. Points reset at the start of each calendar month, although players keep their achieved level for the following month. Redeemed rakeback cash has no play-through or wagering requirement.
As covered in September, Betfair was the first brand to join the PokerStars Network under the new PokerStars on Betfair arrangement. PokerStars had described the broader Flutter strategy as an effort to bring players from its brands into shared pools, responding to thinner fields and smaller tournament prizes amid fragmented regulation and a tougher market environment.
Paddy Power Poker and Sky Poker were expected to adopt PokerStars software and join the network in the coming months, although players may use only one account at a time if they hold accounts with more than one brand.
