Key points
  1. The MSPT Spade Poker Championship runs at FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek through Sunday, Oct. 18.
  2. Its $1,110 Main Event has a $1 million guarantee and three Day 1 flights beginning Thursday.
  3. Advancing players will return in the money for Sunday’s Day 2, while the winner earns a $3,500 MSPT Championship entry.
  4. The inaugural event drew 2,773 entries and generated a $2.69 million prize pool in 2025.

The MSPT Spade Poker Championship is being held at FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, Michigan, with a $1,110 no-limit hold’em Main Event carrying a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. The six-day festival runs from Oct. 13 through Oct. 18, marking the event’s second year.

The Main Event begins Thursday with three Day 1 flights, each at noon. Players who advance return at 10 a.m. Sunday for Day 2, and each opening flight stops when about 11% of its field remains, so survivors will already be in the money.

Players receive 30,000 chips and can enter or re-enter without a cap until registration closes at the start of Level 13. The eventual champion also receives a non-transferable $3,500 entry to the MSPT Championship, while the Major-series event awards 1.5 times the standard MSPT Player of the Year points.

The schedule includes $70 and $265 Milestone satellites that ran Oct. 9-12, plus further satellite opportunities during the festival. Gold Card side tournaments generally cost $250 to $400, including a $400 Monster Stack that starts at noon Sunday as the Main Event’s Day 2 is in progress.

Registration requires players to meet the casino’s age requirement and hold a free Red Hot Rewards Club membership.

This year’s Main Event guarantee is down from the inaugural Spade Poker Championship’s $1.5 million guarantee. That first edition, held at FireKeepers from Oct. 9-12, 2025, drew 2,773 entries and built a $2.69 million prize pool, according to PokerNews.

Merritt Kuhn won the inaugural title after making a deal with Raymond Mancini, collecting $268,049. The series also produced side-event wins for George Janssen, Marty Masar III, William Webb and Jacob Long.

FireKeepers hosts major MSPT festivals in the spring and fall. Its May Season 17 Michigan Poker State Championship Main Event drew 2,551 entries and generated a $2.47 million prize pool; Sai Mudduluru won $357,936 and a seat into the MSPT Championship Rock ’N’ Roll Poker Open.
