  2. The guarantee is 60% higher than the $125,000 offered for September’s tournament.
  3. Players can buy in directly for $1,000 or try to qualify through a $0.50, $10 and $100 satellite ladder.
  4. The event begins at 17:00 UTC, features a two-hour late-registration period and permits up to 98 re-entries per player.
  5. The lobby lists knockout awards of at least $250, though the promotion does not fully explain how their values are calculated.

Stake Poker has raised the guarantee for its Oct. 25 Stake Showdown to $200,000, a new record for the platform. The No-Limit Hold’em tournament keeps its $1,000 direct buy-in and is set to start at 17:00 UTC on Sunday, Oct. 25.

The guarantee is 60% higher than September’s $125,000 Stake Showdown. As we reported in September, the previous edition introduced the high-roller event with the same $1,000 entry point and low-cost satellite route.

Pokerfuse described the increase as a near-doubling of the guarantee less than two months after Stake Poker launched the Showdown in early September. The $200,000 is a guaranteed total prize pool, meaning it stands even if entries do not generate that amount; it is not the first-place payout, which depends on the final prize structure.

Registration opens Oct. 24. Players begin with 20,000 chips, with 10-minute blind levels starting at 50/100 and scheduled breaks at the 55-minute mark each hour. Regular play uses eight-handed tables before a nine-handed final table.

The event has a two-hour late-registration period and allows as many as 98 re-entries per player, each at $1,000. The lobby lists a minimum six-player field and a 10,000-player capacity. It does not offer conventional rebuys or add-ons, although eliminated players can re-enter while registration remains open.

Players can also pursue a seat through a three-stage satellite ladder. Step 1 costs $0.50 and awards Step 2 entries, Step 2 costs $10 and feeds Step 3, and the $100 final step awards a $1,000 Showdown seat. Entrants may join the ladder at any stage, or buy directly into the main event.

The tournament lobby lists knockout awards of at least $250 for each elimination. Stake Poker’s card-room rules allow bounty-event players to receive knockout rewards even when they do not make the paid places, although the available Showdown promotion does not fully set out how individual knockout values are calculated or whether they can change during play.

The event is hosted on Stake’s international Stake.com platform, which SoMuchPoker says is unavailable to US players.
