WSOP Circuit Brings 18-Event, $2 Million Series to Toledo’s Reserve Poker Club

The Reserve’s inaugural Circuit stop starts Oct. 29, with a $1 million guaranteed Main Event and a disputed Mini Main buy-in.

Key points
  1. The Reserve Poker Club’s first WSOP Circuit stop runs from Oct. 29 through Nov. 9 and awards 18 rings.
  2. More than $2 million is guaranteed across the series, including $1 million in the $1,700 Main Event.
  3. PokerOrg and the official WSOP schedule list different buy-ins for the $500,000-guaranteed Mini Main.
  4. Mixed games, Seniors and Ladies events join no-limit hold’em side events on the Toledo schedule.

The World Series of Poker Circuit will make its first visit to The Reserve Poker Club in Toledo, Ohio, from Oct. 29 through Nov. 9. The 18-event festival carries more than $2 million in advertised guarantees, led by a $1,700 no-limit hold’em Main Event with a $1 million guarantee and three starting flights.

The Main Event begins Thursday, Nov. 5. PokerOrg, which described the stop as an “exciting debut,” reported that The Reserve has previously hosted several million-dollar poker events that drew prominent players.

A buy-in discrepancy appears on the Mini Main Event. PokerOrg’s latest preview lists it as a $400 tournament with a $500,000 guarantee, while the official WSOP schedule lists a $600 no-limit hold’em Mini Main with the same $500,000 guarantee and five starting flights.

The opening $400 Double Stack Kick-Off has a $100,000 guarantee. Other larger guaranteed events include the $600 Monster Stack, with three flights and $100,000 guaranteed; a $1,100 Freezeout with $50,000 guaranteed; and a $2,200 High Roller with a $50,000 guarantee.

The slate also gives mixed-game players several options: a $400 H.O.R.S.E. event with a $20,000 guarantee, a $600 Big O/8 tournament with $25,000 guaranteed and a $600 pot-limit Omaha event. The schedule further includes a $400 Seniors tournament, a $400 Ladies event, the Black Chip Bounty, Deepstack and 40/40/40 events, plus a Double Stack Closer.

The Toledo festival is one of the new Ohio and Arizona additions to the Circuit’s post-WSOP fall schedule. Ohio has hosted a Circuit stop before, with Horseshoe Cincy staging one in 2013, but this is The Reserve’s first turn on the tour.

The Circuit runs dozens of events year-round, and its fall schedule leads toward WSOP Paradise in December.
