GTO LAB Sets Nov. 3 Start for 21-Day Mystery Bounty Masterclass

The $999 course from Axel Hallay, Nick Petrangelo and Daniel Dvoress carries a $200 preorder discount.

Key points
  1. The Masterclass covers mystery-bounty tournament play at every stage and includes expected-value tools.
  2. Axel Hallay, Nick Petrangelo and Daniel Dvoress created the 21-day program.
  3. Preorders made before Nov. 3 receive $200 off the $999 price, Pro access and a mystery prize.
  4. Mystery-bounty strategy depends on average bounty value, ICM and whether a player covers opponents.

GTO LAB will begin a 21-day Mystery Bounty Masterclass on Nov. 3, aimed at a tournament format whose strategy changes sharply once bounty prizes become available. The course will cover play at every stage and include bounty tools designed to help players decide when to gamble, when to pass and how to maximize expected value.

PokerNews’ promotion says the program was created by Axel Hallay, Nick Petrangelo and Daniel Dvoress, who have more than $100 million in combined live-tournament cashes. Petrangelo accounts for $46 million of that total and has won two World Series of Poker bracelets.

The course costs $999. Players who preorder before Nov. 3 receive a $200 discount, described as 20% off, plus a free month of Pro access and a mystery prize. Petrangelo said even experienced professionals can benefit from the material and claimed the Masterclass will “pay for itself.”

Mystery bounties have become a major tournament format in both live and online poker. They are generally played as standard tournaments until a designated bounty phase, when eliminating an opponent earns a randomly selected prize that can sometimes exceed the top prize in the regular payout structure.

That payout uncertainty creates different incentives from conventional multi-table tournaments and progressive-knockout events. A GTO Wizard guide says players should focus on the average value of all remaining bounties rather than chase the biggest individual prize, while also accounting for ICM and stack coverage. Players who cover opponents can pursue eliminations more aggressively, while covered stacks have less freedom to do so.
