CoinPoker’s the One Starts Well Ahead of $5 Million Guarantee Pace
The first three opening flights averaged more than twice the entries needed across the remaining schedule to cover the prize pool.
CoinPoker’s $250 The One has drawn 4,197 entries across its first three Day 1 flights, putting the new flagship tournament well ahead of the pace needed to cover its $5 million guaranteed prize pool.
The early flights averaged 1,399 entries each. With 23 flights still to run, the tournament needs 15,803 more entries, or 687 per remaining flight, to reach the guarantee. That means its opening average is more than double the remaining per-flight requirement.
CardPlayer cautioned that one of the first flights ran on Sunday, traditionally poker’s busiest period, so the initial average may not reflect demand throughout the schedule. Even so, the outlet concluded that the early turnout had The One on course to beat its guarantee.
Satellite qualifiers add another source of entries. CoinPoker had guaranteed more than 3,000 satellite tickets, and 1,786 had already been generated at the time of the report. Players can also enter directly for $250, with $1 million locked in for the winner.
As we reported in September, CoinPoker had scheduled 26 Day 1 flights for its largest-ever guaranteed tournament, running from Oct. 4 through Oct. 12. Players may enter multiple flights, but only their largest qualifying stack advances to Day 2. Under the site’s Flight Buy-In-Back mechanic, a Day 1 buy-in is refunded in cash when a player qualifies for Day 2, while further qualifying entries are converted into bonus cash based on the minimum Day 2 payout.
The remaining opening flights run through Oct. 12, including two turbo flights on the final day before Day 2.
