BetRivers Poker has put Mystery Bounty tournaments live in its client for players in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware and West Virginia, with the first event set to start Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 3:05 p.m. ET. The opening test tournament carries a $5 buy-in, a $400 guarantee and puts 50% of its prize pool into the Mystery Bounty pool.
As we reported Oct. 27, BetRivers had initially aimed to add the format that day. The rollout arrived several days later while the operator completed regulatory requirements across all four states.
The format will be offered across buy-in levels alongside BetRivers’ existing Progressive Knockout tournaments. In a Mystery Bounty event, the bounty phase starts once the tournament reaches the money. Players who eliminate opponents then draw prizes from the remaining prize pool, with the value hidden until the knockout is completed and revealed at the table.
BetRivers also displays the average bounty after each knockout and uses target markers to identify covered all-in opponents. The tables include visual cues, animations, sound effects and a live pay table showing the bounty prizes still available.
The standard structure splits roughly half of each entry fee to the regular prize pool and half to bounties. That setup gives players a route to a potentially large payout before the final table, since bounty values are assigned at random.
The launch makes BetRivers the third regulated U.S. online poker operator offering Mystery Bounties, after WSOP Online and PokerStars on FanDuel. Earlier coverage described the games as the first regulated online Mystery Bounty offering in Delaware and West Virginia, where BetRivers is the only online poker operator.
The addition coincided with BetRivers’ second-anniversary celebrations, whose Anniversary Week ran from Oct. 27 through Nov. 1.
