PokerStars’ Big Game on Tour returns to YouTube on Sunday, Nov. 8, with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe joining Doug Polk, Antonio Esfandiari, Esther Taylor, Princess Love and Scott Gaughan at the cash-game table. The five-episode run will air weekly through Dec. 6 on the official PokerStars and PokerStars UK YouTube channels.
PokerExclusive described the Nov. 8 episodes as the second half of Season 3, while PokerNews and Pokerfuse characterized the release as the new Season 3 series. All three reports named the same six-player lineup.
Hinchcliffe, the host of the Kill Tony podcast, will be making his debut on the PokerStars high-stakes show. He and Polk already have some poker-and-comedy history: the two Austin, Texas, residents played a $20,000 heads-up match after meeting at a bar. Hinchcliffe won the first contest in 20 minutes, then proposed a $40,000 rematch against one minute of stand-up comedy.
Polk won the rematch and earned a spot on Kill Tony, where Hinchcliffe called his set the best of the night. Polk has appeared on the comedy show twice. Ahead of their Big Game appearance, Polk said Hinchcliffe was accustomed to performing under pressure and hoped his poker would be less hilarious than his jokes.
Gaughan, a Canadian aspiring comedian who typically hosts corporate comedy game shows, takes the season’s Loose Cannon seat. PokerStars gives the Loose Cannon a $50,000 stake for 150 hands; Gaughan keeps profit above that initial stake if he finishes the session ahead.
The professional contingent comprises heads-up specialist Polk, live-cash-game veteran Esfandiari and mixed-game specialist Taylor. Esfandiari also appeared in Season 2 with Phil Hellmuth and Rob Gronkowski. Princess Love, described as a poker-loving reality star, rounds out a table designed to mix poker professionals, celebrities and the Loose Cannon format.
