Alligator Blood Opens Waitlist for Poker Social Network
Phil Hellmuth, Doug Polk and Michael Mizrachi are among the backers as the site starts as a searchable poker directory
Alligator Blood has opened a waitlist for a new poker-focused social network and directory that is pitching itself as a single home for the game’s scattered online community. The project is branding itself as “Poker’s Home” and, in its early form, is aiming to work more like a searchable poker link hub than a full social feed.
The about page for the site, dated July 1, says the company is building “the first connected destination for the entire poker world.” It describes Alligator Blood as a social network and directory built specifically for poker, with the launch version designed so that anyone in the game can claim a profile in one searchable directory.
That first stage is meant to be a poker-centric listing service, closer to an IMDb-style directory or a Linktree-style profile page than a traditional social platform. The company says it plans to evolve from that directory into a more connected network over time.
The project’s stated purpose is to bring together poker players, creators, cardrooms, podcasts, tools, and operators in one place. The company says poker is fragmented across X, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, Reddit, and other spaces, while the about page separately describes the wider poker world as spread across X, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, and a dozen forums.
Josh Luber is leading the project. He is described as the founder of StockX and Fanatics Collectibles, and the about page says he helped turn Fanatics Collectibles into a $10 billion business. The site says he is a longtime recreational poker player.
Alligator Blood is also backing itself with an 11-person steering committee that doubles as investors and advisors. The names on that list include Phil Hellmuth, Alan Keating, Doug Polk, Michael Mizrachi, Jared Bleznick, Jeff Gross, Xuan Liu, Ryan Feldman, Benjamin Rolle, Kevin Martin, and Corey Eyring.
Hellmuth has framed the project as both an investment and a passion play. In a quote reproduced by PokerNews, he said he had invested in more than 50 startups and called the venture “the perfect synthesis of opportunity and passion,” adding that he and Luber would “change the future of poker.”
The project says users do not need to be professionals to sign up. Luber said, “Poker is already the one game with no barrier between the amateur and the legend,” and said the aim is to give “every player” a profile and “every fan” a way in.
The waitlist is open at alligatorblood.com, and the sign-up push includes a free-to-play PLO flip promotion tied to early access and referrals. The company says it is giving away up to $100,000 in total cash prizes over the next few months, but it has not announced a full launch date.
