PokerStars Launches $800,000 Sunday Million Ticket Raffle

The weekly draw awards $100,000 in Phase 1 tickets and lets players earn up to 24 entries through regular play.

PokerStars has launched a Sunday Million Anniversary Ticket Machine promotion that will give away $800,000 in Phase 1 tickets for the Sunday Million 20th anniversary event. The weekly draw is tied to the $5 million guaranteed anniversary edition and is designed to help players win their way into the long build-up to Phase 2.

The promotion runs from July 13 through September 5 and hands out $100,000 worth of tickets each week. Players have to opt in through the Challenges window in the PokerStars client, then complete eligible poker challenges to earn raffle entries.

According to Pokerfuse, the weekly challenges can be played through regular formats including MTTs, Zoom, Spin & Gos and cash games. Pokerfuse also said the Ticket Machine uses six challenges each week, with each challenge completable up to four times, for a maximum of 24 entries in a single prize period.

Winners are entered into a weekly draw that takes place every Saturday at 00:05 ET, and the prizes are Phase 1 tickets for the anniversary Sunday Million. PokerListings described the Ticket Machine as aligning with the closing weeks of qualification, while Pokerfuse characterized the giveaways as $109 Daily Heat tickets tied to the event.

The Ticket Machine sits alongside other qualification routes for the anniversary series. PokerNews reported that Phase 1 flights began on June 28 and will run for 10 weeks, with Phase 2 set for the evening of September 6.

PokerNews also said Phase 1 entries cost $109, late registration lasts 100 minutes or about until the end of Level 9, and players can make up to three re-entries before carrying their stacks forward into Phase 2. The same report said satellites start at $0.55, while Spin & Go routes priced at $0.75 and $4 can also feed into $109 Phase 1 seats.

In PokerStars’ own framing, the Sunday Million is a major part of the site’s history. Poker Director Ashley Chase said the anniversary edition is meant to celebrate that legacy with a “$5 million guaranteed prize pool” and a “summer-long road to Phase 2” that gives players more ways than ever to qualify.
