Brandon Mueller Wins Borgata Summer Poker Open PLO Title
Aces powered a wire-to-wire run through a 197-entry event and a long heads-up finish against Danny Chang.
Brandon Mueller won Event #8, the $650 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, at the 2026 Borgata Summer Poker Open after beating Danny Chang heads-up. The event drew 197 entries and built a $112,290 prize pool, and Mueller earned $24,575 for the victory.
According to PokerNews, Mueller came into Day 2 second in chips and quickly moved to the top after winning a huge early pot when his aces held in a three-way all-in against two strong drawing hands. He said aces were a theme all day, adding that he had them at least 14 times and that they held every time except once.
Day 2 began with 25 players returning in the money, each already locked up for at least $1,525. Nine players busted in the first 30 minutes, the field then narrowed to the final two tables, and it took about another hour to reach the final table.
Mark Aridgides entered Day 2 with 1,205,000 chips, nearly double his closest challenger. Piotr Sowinski started with 584,000, Danny Chang with 295,000, and Mueller with 668,000.
Mueller kept control through the late stages, while Chang was caught bluffing on multiple occasions and at one point dropped to fewer than ten big blinds after another failed bluff. In the decisive hand, Chang check-raised on a king-king-five flop, but Mueller had flopped trips with top kicker, slow-played, and snap-called Chang’s river jam to secure the title.
Aridgides finished third, Terence Beaman was fourth, and Mario Damiao took fifth after failing to improve against Chang’s aces. Mueller called the win his first live PLO title and said he had no idea how he won.
He also said he plans to play the rest of the Borgata schedule over the next ten days.
