WSOP Circuit Tallinn Main Event Breaks Record at 977 Entries
Rasmus Lundström led Day 1d with 1.304 million as the €1,500 event built the biggest prize pool in the stop’s four-year history.
The WSOP Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event set a new attendance high by reaching 977 entries, and the prize pool climbed to €1,253,002. That cleared the previous record of 888 entries and gave the stop its biggest payout pool yet.
According to PokerNews, Day 1d added 392 entries to the overall tally, then Day 1e brought in another 191 buy-ins.
Rasmus Lundström finished Day 1d with 1,304,000 chips after starting with 50,000. Mathias Siljander sat second on 948,000, and Roy van der Reijnst was third with 912,000.
The Day 1d field sent 58 players through to Day 2, all of them already in the money. The update did not yet lock in the blind level for the restart because Day 1e was still in progress, but Day 2 was set to run 60-minute levels and play down to the final 24 players.
The Main Event is part of a Tallinn stop that opened on July 23 and runs through August 2 at the Olympic Park Casino. The festival schedule includes 12 WSOP Circuit ring events and more than 60 side events, and the €1,500 Main Event itself uses five flights from July 28-30.
The format allows players to enter as many flights as they want, although only their largest qualifying stack carries forward if they bag more than once. The setup was built on earlier flights, including Day 1b’s 224 entries and the 34 players who bagged from that flight.
The record comes against last year’s Tallinn Main Event, which reached 888 entries and produced a €1,138,860 prize pool split among the top 138 finishers. Jenny Westerlund won that edition, beating Krzysztof Chmielowski heads-up for €200,200.
