Fedevalle Storms Back to Win 888poker Mystery Bounty Main Event
Argentina’s player erased a nearly six-to-one heads-up hole, while TTeixeirAA grabbed the $8,000 jackpot bounty in a 772-entry overlay.
Argentina’s Fedevalle turned a huge heads-up deficit into a win in 888poker’s latest $80,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event, beating Magnolia176 for the $7,103 top prize. When the final duel began, Fedevalle had 21.5 big blinds against Magnolia176’s 123.2, so the comeback came from a very deep hole.
According to PokerNews, the tournament drew 772 entrants and overlaid the $80,000 guarantee. Brazil’s TTeixeirAA finished only 32nd, but still left as the event’s biggest winner after pulling the $8,000 jackpot bounty before busting.
As covered in an earlier report on Germany’s mr.diego97, 888poker’s Mystery Bounty Main Event had already produced another champion earlier in August.
The final table started with Ukraine’s tarakan915 as the shortest stack, and he was the first player out. He three-bet shoved ace-ten of diamonds from the small blind, Magnolia176 called with king-queen, and a straight on the turn turned into a better straight on the river to send tarakan915 home.
The table then settled into a slower stretch. Billy_Slater padded a stack that got close to 100 big blinds after a hand against ZaCafu, whose pocket tens were cracked by a queen on the flop, and Zeaberration’s exit ended about an hour without an elimination. BrownBrit finished fifth, Billy_Slater went out fourth, and Guuadania lost the last shot at heads-up play when Magnolia176’s open-shove with ace-three won on a jack-high board.
Once it was heads-up, Magnolia176 still looked in control, but Fedevalle chipped back steadily. He won a hand with aces against ace-queen of diamonds, then took the lead when both players flopped diamond flushes and Fedevalle’s jack-six beat Magnolia176’s ten-three. On the last hand, Magnolia176 shoved 27 big blinds with king-seven of clubs and Fedevalle called with king-jack, then flopped a jack to seal the title.
It took 90 minutes for three players to bust from the final table, and less than 45 minutes more to finish the event after that.
