GUKPT Luton Lands as Sixth Stop of 20th Season

PokerNews and Grosvenor’s own page differ slightly on the end date, but both point to a busy Bedfordshire stop with six-figure headline events.

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour is heading back to Bedfordshire for the sixth stop of its landmark 20th season, with GUKPT Luton set for Aug. 30 to Sept. 8 at Grosvenor G Casino Luton. The festival is built around a £250 Mini Main with a £100,000 guarantee and a £560 Main Event with a £150,000 guarantee.

The published schedules are not identical on the finish date. Grosvenor’s own GUKPT page lists Luton as running Aug. 30-Sept. 6, while PokerNews says the festival runs through Sept. 8. The card also adds a £1,000 High Roller with a £50,000 guarantee, a £200 Turbo, a £150 Deepstack and a £200 Last Chance.

As covered in May, the tour had already made one Luton stop this year, where Yucel Eminoglu won the £1,250 Main Event from 190 entries and banked £57,640 from a £236,250 prize pool. That same festival saw Ajay Kejriwal win the £1,650 High Roller for £31,060, Derek Boyle top a 498-entry Mini Main for £26,775 and Craig Sarginson complete a Pot-Limit Omaha double.

The new Luton schedule starts on Aug. 30 with the final flight of the £200 Summer Sizzler South. The £250 Mini Main uses four starting flights across three days, beginning with Day 1a at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30, before Day 2 on Sept. 1 and a champion the following day.

The £560 Main Event begins with Day 1a on Sept. 3, adds a Day 1b and a turbo Day 1c for late entries, then brings survivors back for Day 2 on Sept. 5 and the final day the afternoon after that. Must-Play Cashout satellites offer routes into the High Roller and Main Event throughout the week, and Grosvenor says its feeder satellites start from as little as £1, with LIVE EVENT CREDIT tickets usable in any GUKPT tournament and never expiring. The GUKPT Cup returns later in the week.
