WSOP Circuit Returns to Hard Rock Tulsa With 18 Ring Events

Local coverage says the stop runs Aug. 26 through Sept. 7, while Hard Rock’s own newsroom lists a larger 47-event schedule.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa is set to host the World Series of Poker Circuit from Aug. 26 through Sept. 7, and local coverage described the return as 12 days of action, with 45 events and 18 official ring tournaments. The Main Event Championship begins Sept. 4 and runs through Sept. 7.

According to the WSOP schedule page, Tulsa’s stop lists 18 numbered events, and the main event is a $1,700 NL Hold’em tournament. The page also identifies event #5 as a $300 Seniors No Limit Hold’em event, event #9 as a $400 40/40/40 NL Hold’em event, event #13 as a $300 Ladies No Limit Hold’em event, and event #17 as a $300 Seniors No Limit Hold’em II event.

The 40/40/40 format is aimed at players 40 and older, with 40-minute levels and a $40,000 starting stack. Hard Rock’s own newsroom described the Tulsa lineup differently, calling it a 47-event, 13-day series and saying buy-ins range from $140 to $1,700, with satellite qualifier buy-ins from $75 to $140.

As covered in July, the Circuit had already drawn a big summer field in Durant earlier in the season. Hard Rock frames the tour as a buildup to the World Series, with championship events in no-limit Texas hold ’em and preliminary events that can include other poker variants.

The casino also points to last year’s Tulsa stop, where John Dollinger beat a field of 487 to win $147,178 and his second WSOP Circuit ring, and more than $2.1 million was paid out in total prize money. Guests must be at least 21 years old to play at the Tulsa stop.
