Lucas Jumalon Wants to Bring Online Poker Back to the U.S.
The WSOP champion says the game needs more support for younger players and wants to help on the legal side.
Lucas Jumalon says he wants to get involved in the legal side of poker and help bring online poker back to the United States completely. He framed that as part of a bigger push to keep the poker dream alive for younger players, and said the goal would give them hope that the game still has a path forward.
In an interview with Poker.org, Jumalon said he wants to work on “the legalities behind the game” and try to restore online poker across the country. The outlet said he cast that goal as a response to roadblocks over the past 15 years, including the limited availability of online poker across the U.S.
Jumalon also said that “people have kind of given up on the ‘poker dream’,” but that it is still “alive and well.” He said his own run showed that it is possible if a player is willing to put in the time.
He was just as direct about what he thinks the game needs. Jumalon said poker has been needing someone to “take the reins” and said it needs more “juice and oomph” to get it over the hill. He also said his main priority is still to be the best poker player he possibly can.
As reported in August, Jumalon followed his Main Event victory by joining Poker Royalty as an ambassador. PokerNews said the company will represent him across sponsorships, endorsements, appearances, licensing and strategic brand partnerships, and quoted him saying he wants to be “a real ambassador for this game.”
PokerNews said Jumalon went wire-to-wire at the 2026 WSOP Main Event final table, and he was a 22-year-old chip leader when the finale began. The same coverage said he closed out the title run without ever giving up that lead.
