Guilbert Busts Pacheco Twice on High Stakes Poker LIVE
Pacheco lost $150,000 in two hands as the Day 2 stream ended after less than two hours.
Johan “YoH Viral” Guilbert ended the second night of High Stakes Poker LIVE in a hurry, taking all of Andrew “Ace” Pacheco’s chips in two hands and leaving the newcomer down $150,000. The Day 2 session on PokerGO lasted less than two hours before the table was short-handed and the stream shut down.
The broader event is a seven-day live cash-game run from August 25 through August 31 at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, presented by CoinPoker. GamesHub reported before the week began that it was the first time High Stakes Poker had attempted a full week of consecutive live broadcasts, and PokerGO CEO Brent Hanks called it something the series had never done before.
Poker.org reported that Wednesday’s stream brought back Sam Soverel, Jesse Lonis, Justin Gavri, Markus Gonsalves and Guilbert for the second of seven straight nights of no-limit hold’em action. Pacheco joined as the newcomer, and the day did not stay friendly for long.
In the first big pot, Lonis opened to $1,200 from up front, Guilbert flat-called, and Pacheco squeezed from the big blind looking to pick up the dead money. Guilbert then back-raised to $31,000, Pacheco shoved, and Guilbert called instantly. The players agreed to run it once with $223,400 in the middle, and Guilbert held to win the pot.
Guilbert finished the job in the next hand. After Pacheco raised and Lonis three-bet, Guilbert flat-called from the small blind. Pacheco moved his remaining $37,200 into the middle, Lonis got out of the way and Guilbert made the quick call. They agreed to a single runout, Pacheco missed again, and his stack was gone. He left after offering fist-bumps to the table, and only five players remained.
