Las Vegas Police Release Suspect Images in Jared Griener WSOP Robbery Case
Detectives seek help identifying two men after the poker player said he was bound and robbed at a rental home in July.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released images of two men it says are suspected of robbing poker player Jared Griener at his rental home during the World Series of Poker. Detectives asked the public to help identify the men, and said they fled in a dark gray SUV after the July 12 robbery.
The case involves $57,500 connected to Griener’s WSOP winnings. Police described one suspect as a heavyset adult male with braids, distinctive tattoos on his left forearm, a black shirt, black shorts and white shoes with black soles. The second was described as an adult male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, red shorts and black shoes, according to FOX5’s report on the image release.
The images came more than two months after Griener said he was attacked after returning to the Las Vegas rental. His account was that two masked men were waiting inside, restrained him with duct tape and demanded a backpack containing tournament cash.
Griener had cashed several 2026 WSOP events, including a 218th-place finish in the $10,000 Main Event worth $57,500. He told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he had withdrawn about $60,000 from his WSOP account and that the backpack also held personal property, including Dior sunglasses, headphones and a phone charger.
He said the men took his car keys to retrieve the backpack from his vehicle, though they did not take the car. After being bound in the rental’s living room, Griener freed himself and ran barefoot to neighboring homes for help. Ring camera footage showed him with duct tape still around one arm asking a resident to call 911.
Police responded to the reported robbery at about 8:40 p.m. in the neighborhood on July 12. Neighborhood surveillance footage showed the two men arriving in a dark gray SUV, parking around the corner, walking toward the rental and returning to the vehicle about 20 minutes later. Griener has said the footage showed the men arriving roughly 10 minutes before he returned.
How the men entered remains unresolved. Malee Simpson, the homeowner, told News 3 there was no forced entry and that her cameras captured the suspects leaving, but not entering. She said they could have been let in, used the door code, or accessed the property through the backyard, side yard or garage.
Simpson said Griener rented the property for about six weeks with two roommates, and her review of footage found roughly 10 people had come and gone during that period. The home had one door code for the stay, with no separate codes for cleaners or maintenance workers, and people other than the three registered renters had used it.
