PokerStars Adds Women’s Classic Seats to WCOOP Women’s World Championship
The top three finishers in the $215 online event will win £300 entries to London’s £20,000-guaranteed Women’s Classic.
PokerStars is adding a live-poker prize to its $215 WCOOP Event #73-H: Women’s World Championship. The top three finishers receive £300 seats in the Women’s Classic, a ladies-only tournament at London’s Hippodrome Casino with a £20,000 guarantee.
The seats come with no strings attached beyond qualifying through the online event. Players must register and play on Sunday to be eligible, with the tournament also awarding a WCOOP title. PokerStars describes the Women’s World Championship as one of the year’s most prestigious online ladies’ events.
As covered in August, the 25th WCOOP runs through Sept. 30 as a 350-tournament series. The Women’s World Championship promotion gives its leading finishers a route into a separate live event.
The Women’s Classic is part of Ladies Weekend, a PokerStars-sponsored initiative intended to encourage women’s participation in poker. The Hippodrome is hosting the UK leg from Oct. 16-18 and is the only British venue in a 26-location worldwide programme run by the Women’s Poker Federation.
The London weekend combines poker with educational sessions and opportunities for women players to meet. Participation in activities around the Hippodrome begins free of charge, while the Women’s Classic carries the £20,000 guaranteed prize pool.
PokerStars Ambassador Kerryjane Craige is set to host the event, alongside other ambassadors and affiliated players. The programme includes a masterclass from chess champion and author Jennifer Shahade, plus free lessons from Octopi Poker co-founder Victoria Livshitz on her high-stakes experience and using poker solvers to improve a player’s game.
The 2026 expansion follows the first WPF Ladies Weekend in 2025, when more than 1,500 participants generated 2,200 entries across nine countries, according to PokerNews. The federation said it intended to add countries and stages in 2026, as well as create a Grand Final for regional champions.
Ladies Weekend runs from Oct. 16-18, with the Women’s Classic serving as the Hippodrome’s featured tournament.
