Hustler Casino Live Stats Undercut Rampage’s Criticism of Harut
Ethan Yau called for the clock during a major draw, but Harut’s nine-second average was well below Nik Airball’s 15 seconds.
Ethan “Rampage” Yau’s heated complaint about a fellow player’s tanking during a Sept. 19 Hustler Casino Live cash game was undercut by the stream’s own timing graphics, which showed Harut was not the table’s slowest decision-maker.
The confrontation came in a $50-$100 no-limit hold’em hand after Yau raised preflop to $2,000 with Q♠Q♣. Francisco Fragoso had limped with pocket fives and Harut entered the pot with A♥K♥; Nik Airball called Yau’s raise with Q♥J♣.
On the J♥3♥2♣ flop, Yau checked and Airball bet $4,000 with top pair. Fragoso folded, while Harut called with the nut-flush draw and two overcards, leaving about $92,000 behind. Yau then check-raised to $18,000 from a stack of more than $200,000, and Airball folded.
Harut had better than 2-to-1 pot odds to continue, but he spent about a minute considering the decision. Yau asked for the clock, saying, “He’s taking so long. We have 30 minutes left. It’s just the flop.” When Harut asked if he was serious, Yau replied that he wanted the clock because Harut was taking too long.
Harut ultimately folded, a decision that surprised commentator David Tuchman and viewers. Yau continued the criticism afterward, telling Harut, “I’m never playing with you again… you’re an absolute SNIPING NIT,” and demanding that he hurry up.
Yau also said Hustler Casino Live’s statistics would show Harut had taken the longest at the table. But the graphics showed Harut averaging nine seconds per decision, compared with Yau’s six seconds and Airball’s table-high 15 seconds. PokerNews concluded the available timing data did not show Harut holding up the game.
Harut’s displayed stream statistics also showed a 46% voluntary-put-money-in-pot rate and a 12% preflop-raise rate. He finished the game as its biggest winner, up about $72,600, while Yau was the biggest loser, down about $103,250.
CardPlayer’s Sept. 28 opinion column called Yau’s criticism excessive and characterized the conduct as rude and bullying. The column said Harut appeared flustered by the exchange before folding his draw.
The incident came after a strong recent run for the popular poker vlogger in livestream cash games and followed his World Series of Poker bracelet win during the summer.
