In this short video Minh Nyugen admits that he built his huge chip stack heading into the final table of the Heartland Poker Tour event by “running good.”
His run good started a week ago when he won $48, 000 at Thunder Valley Resort. But his streak came to an end just short of the winner’s circle as he busted out in fourth place. Nyugen can’t complain too much as he collected $43,553 for his efforts.
Tom West finished the tournament in first place and took home $154,590. That was West’s second big cash of the year. Earlier in January he notched a third place finish for $64,676.
Readers in Europe and other parts of the world may be jealous that they live too far to participate in the action at the HPT, but they have plenty of opportunities that HPT players in California do not such as being able to play live blackjack or poker from the comfort of their own homes.
