$1 Million Guaranteed Sunday Storm Anniversary to Return in April

After hosting a record-breaking Sunday Million last Sunday, the world’s leading online poker room, PokerStars, has now announced anniversary edition of its another Sunday flagship tournament, Sunday Storm.

The anniversary event will be held on April 26 at 14:00 ET and will feature a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

The buy-in will remain the same i.e., $11.

Daily $2.20 Mega Satellites at 12:05 ET and 14:05 ET, each guaranteeing 200 seats are already underway and will run until April 25.

The tournament usually runs with a $175k to $200k guarantee, attracting over 25,000 players every week. But on April 26, PokerStars will need to attract four times its usual turnout to hit its ambitious seven-figure guarantee.

Last year, the anniversary edition of Sunday Storm was held in June. The tournament attracted 128,865 total entries for a total prize pool of $1.26 million.

Sunday Million Anniversary Edition Smashes Record, Generates $18.6 Million Prize Pool

The special event exceeded its ambitious guarantee by over $6 million

The late registration for PokerStars’ record-breaking event has ended and we have the final figures.

Celebrating the 14th anniversary of PokerStars’ iconic tournament Sunday Million, the special event saw an unprecedented 93,016 total entries after 24 hours long late registration.

This built a massive prize pool of $18.6 million, exceeding its mammoth guarantee of $12.5 million by over $6 million.

This makes it PokerStars’ biggest online poker tournament in its history and the world’s third-largest online poker tournament.

Out of 93,016 total entries, 60,898 entries were unique and the remaining 32,118 came from re-entries.

Currently, 15,000 players remain in the tournament and the tournament will pay out a staggering 13,319 places. Top 2 places will walk away with over $1 million payouts.
