Caesars Virginia Lands Virginia’s First WSOP Circuit Stop

The Danville festival runs Sept. 3-14 with 18 ring events, a $1.5 million guarantee and a $500,000 Main Event prize pool.

Caesars Virginia will host the first World Series of Poker Circuit stop ever held in Virginia, with the series set for Sept. 3-14 in Danville at the Pantheon. The festival includes 18 official WSOP Circuit ring events and more than $1.5 million in guaranteed prize pools.

The main championship event runs Sept. 10-14 and carries a $1,700 buy-in and a $500,000 guarantee. The official WSOP event page lists three starting flights for the Main Event and shows the festival topping out with an Event #18 $400 no-limit hold’em Double Stack Closer with a $25,000 guarantee.

Beyond the ring events, players will also have daily side tournaments, cash games and satellite chances throughout the series. Registration is being handled through WSOP LIVE, which Caesars describes as the exclusive sign-up platform for the Caesars Virginia stop, and the app is set to provide seating assignments, chip counts, prize-pool updates and player notifications in real time. Participants must be 21 or older.

The resort opened Dec. 12, 2024, as a 587,000-square-foot property with more than 90,000 square feet of gaming space, nearly 1,500 slots, 79 live-action table games and 48 electronic table games. The release also said the property includes a WSOP poker room, a Caesars Sportsbook, a 320-room hotel tower and 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space that serves as a 2,500-seat live entertainment venue.

Caesars’ release said the property is owned in partnership with Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Chris Albrecht, Caesars Virginia’s senior vice president and general manager, said hosting the circuit event strengthens the property’s position for poker players and fans.
