Nathan Gamble Adds Another PLO8 Win at Potomac

He beat Justin Liberto in the $400 event after his WSOP $10,000 PLO8 championship earlier this summer.

Nathan Gamble picked up another Omaha eight-or-better title at the Potomac Summer Poker Open, winning the $400 PLO 8 event for $8,863. He beat Justin Liberto heads-up to take the trophy.

As Card Player reported, Gamble had already won the WSOP $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for $767,395. That was his third WSOP bracelet, and all three of his bracelets have come in PLO8.

The official WSOP results page listed that championship at 390 entries. Card Player said it built a $3.627 million prize pool, with the top 59 finishers sharing the money.

PokerNews said the Potomac result was part of Gamble’s continuing PLO8 run and noted that he had dropped back down to the $400 buy-in level after the bigger WSOP score. The site also described him as a mixed-game specialist and said he was extending that dominance beyond the World Series of Poker.

At Potomac, the smaller buy-in did not slow him down. Gamble finished the event with the title and the $8,863 first prize, while Liberto was left as the runner-up.
