- About half of each entry fee goes to bounties, with games planned across every buy-in level.
BetRivers Poker will add Mystery Bounty tournaments across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware and West Virginia on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The rollout makes it the third regulated U.S. online poker operator to offer the format, after WSOP Online and PokerStars on FanDuel.
Pokerfuse reported that the launch will give Delaware and West Virginia their first Mystery Bounty tournaments in the regulated market. BetRivers is the only online poker operator in both states, and will offer the new games alongside its existing Progressive Knockout schedule.
Mystery Bounties pay players for eliminating opponents, but the value of each prize is hidden until the knockout happens. BetRivers will begin the bounty phase only once a tournament reaches the money, then award each eliminator a randomly drawn bounty from the remaining prize pool and reveal it immediately at the table.
About half of every entry fee will fund the regular prize pool, with the other half allocated to bounties. The operator says the format will be available at every buy-in level, giving players a chance to land a large bounty without necessarily making a deep run.
The table presentation includes animations, sound effects and visual cues. A target marker will flag an all-in opponent covered by the player, while a live bounty pay table will show which prizes remain available.
The rollout coincides with Anniversary Week, a separate BetRivers promotion running through Nov. 1 that we covered last week. BetRivers also expects to run Mystery Bounty-specific promotions and may add the format to the latter stages of an upcoming tournament series.
